Dear all,
Here are some websites for free online English learning. I got them from the 50th Commemorative National conference of the Japan Association for Language Education & Technology (LET) held in Yokohama at the beginning of this month. I hope they will help you to improve your English.

Hi there! I hope you enjoyed your weekend.
Thank you for allowing me to attend the microteaching session last week. You did a great job and I have learned a lot from watching your demonstrations. From your lessons, I could see your effort in making the class warm, friendly and comfortable. For example, you were trying to use facial expressions, gestures and eye contact to create an inviting environment. Rules and instructions were presented in a very simple and clear way. The transition between activities was very natural and smooth. I like the way you situated learners’ language awareness in many creative and meaningful hands-on activities. I was especially interested in the picture-drawing activity, in which the use of the target language was necessary to attain the goal of the joint work. In this way, the target language has become both a medium and a goal, making the language learning activity a more authentic practice. The flowers you drew were really beautiful. What was more important, they were unique reflecting the individual differences. In addition, they could be kept for reflection on the part of the learners after the class. Other activities were impressive too, which could empower learners to learn by doing.
To sum up, the microteaching session very well mirrored the notions of ‘something personal’, ‘learner voice’ and ‘authenticity’ proposed by Imai sensei.

Hi everyone! I am very happy to see that this online community is taking shape with more members coming and sharing their thoughts. Sorry for being an inactive member so far. In fact, I have been a lurker since my first post. I believe there are more like me, lurking but hesitating to post. Shall we come out to build this community together?
Well, let me get down to the point. I went to attend the 40th Annual Anniversary Conference of the Chubu English Language Education Society in Ishikawa last Saturday and Sunday (June 26 and 27). I listened to some presentations on elementary English education, which were about issues such as team teaching, connection between elementary and secondary English teaching, etc. To be frank, I could not catch all they said due to my limited Japanese. However, I’ve got the handouts of the presentations and want to share them with you. I also managed to voice record some of the presentations.
Interested students please go to the lab to find the handouts or email me for the voice-recorded files (I will try to transfer the data to a CD if possible and put it in the lab).
